This article is a response to Ernst et al.’s 2011 paper, ‘Acupuncture: Does it alleviate pain and are there serious risks? A review of reviews’ recently published in the journal Pain. It identifies significant methodological shortcomings and inaccurate reporting that call into question the overall validity of the paper.
