Cancer rehabilitation and renewal

Speaker(s) : Beverley de Valois, PhD., is a graduate of the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading and a researcher in Integrative Medicine in the Supportive Oncology Research Team, East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. She has nearly 20-years’ experience of research using acupuncture to improve wellbeing and quality of life for cancer survivors. Research projects include using acupuncture to manage: breast cancer treatment related hot flushes, cancer treatment-related upper body lymphoedema, cancer and non-cancer related lower limb lymphoedema; wellbeing for prostate cancer survivors. In addition, she has researched using moxa to improve outcomes for chemotherapy patients and worked with colorectal cancer survivors at Barnet Hospital. She is currently writing a book about acupuncture and cancer survivorship.

The focus of this seminar is on supporting people with cancer who have completed active treatment for cancer and who are experiencing the consequences of treatment, including those who have complex presentations and multiple co-morbidities.
