Event Details

Other information

Friday: - Clarifying the blur: Research literacy for Maternity Acupuncturists - Acupressure: Promoting and running workshops for the public and western medical colleagues. Saturday and Sunday: This workshop will explore clinical practice with case histories and group discussions. The aim is to explore possibilities and generate discussion to assist practitioners in building their clinical confidence. Treatment rationales and point suggestions will be provided for each scenario based on clinical practice, and Debra’s work with acupuncture students and midwives. It is expected that rather than one correct treatment approach, feedback will illustrate a variety of different approaches, providing a rich learning environment for both those experienced and those seeking to expand their practice into pregnancy care. It is also expected that the feedback generated will focus on clinical issues deemed relevant by participants. Debra will facilitate this discussion to ensure that the focus remains on the safety and ethical aspects of providing acupuncture care during pregnancy and postpartum.
