Chinese authors have concluded that the effect of acupuncture on the success rate of assisted reproduction therapy (ART) remains unclear, based on their review of 11 systematic reviews. Although they found that acupuncture was capable of improving the clinical pregnancy rate in patients undergoing ART, they found no evidence that acupuncture affected live birth rates, ongoing pregnancy rates or miscarriage rates, regardless of whether it was performed around the time of oocyte retrieval or around the day of embryo transfer.
