A Chinese systematic review has concluded that acupuncture seems to be an effective therapy for Bell's palsy (peripheral facial paralysis). The authors analysed 11 randomised controlled trials with a total of 1258 individuals. Meta-analysis showed that acupuncture was associated with an increased cure rate and total effective rate in comparison with drugs.
