by Zhong Hong et al

The authors describe the properties, actions and preparation of various insect drugs when combined in pairs, e.g. Wu Gong (Scolopendra Subspinipes) and Quan Xie (Buthus Martensi), Jiang Can (Bombyx Batryticatus) and Chan Tui (Periostracum Cicadae), Chan Tui and She Tui (Periostracum Serpentis), Bai Hua She (Agkistrodon seu Bungarus) and Wu Shao She (Zaocys Dhumnades), Shui Zhi (Hirudo seu Whitmaniae) and Di Long (Lumbricus), Jiu Xiang Chong ( Aspongopus) and Wu Gong (Scolopendra Subspinipes), Tu Bie Chong (Eupolyphagae seu Opistoplatiae) and Shui Zhi (Hirudo seu Whitmaniae), and Meng Chong (Tabanus) and Lou Gu (Gryllotalpa). The author notes that some of these are quite toxic and should be used with caution in elderly patients, in pregnancy, or where there is impairment of renal or hepatic function.
