by Zhao Lijuan et.al.

60 cases of Sjogren's Syndrome, a systemic inflammatory auto-immune chronic disease, were diagnosed and differentiated into 4 types: Yin deficiency, deficiency of both Qi and Yin, Spleen deficiency with stagnation of dampness, and blood stagnation and blood deficiency. Appropriate herbal prescriptions were given in each case. Of the 60 cases, 12 were markedly improved, 43 were improved and in 5 cases treatment was not effective.
