Speaker(s): Shaun Goodman, Dipl.Ac. IATCM. graduated as a Chinese Medicine practitioner in 1995 and since then has been practicing acupuncture at an Acupuncture Centre near Jerusalem. During the last 15 years he has studied and practiced the clinical application of Channel Theory and Master Tung Acupuncture. He also studied Master Tung Acupuncture with Professor Lee Kuo Cheng (李國政) in Taiwan. Shaun teaches globally on topics such as Meridian Theory, Master Tung’s Acupuncture and Bloodletting. He has previously been elected as the 5th most influential practitioners of Chinese Medicine in Israel which shows incredible enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for Chinese Medicine.

The renowned Master Tung teachers are returning to ICOM for a second year in a row. Alongside the popular Foundation course, there will be this Advanced programme which has been designed for practitioner’s who have good knowledge and experience of Master Tung acupuncture. The course is delivered over the course of 2 days for a total of 18 hours. The course was highly praised last year with feedback such as “[Gil and Shaun] are experts sharing many clinical tips that work, with passion and dedication” as well as “very knowledgeable teachers, both in the theory and practice.” Advanced Course Course Content The course will cover: Palm diagnosis Palm diagnosis is an essential component of Master Tung acupuncture, enabling practitioners to assess a patient’s overall health and in helping to identify key acupuncture points. In this part of the course you will learn the art of palm diagnosis, including how to interpret the markings and features of the palm. This is an important part of diagnosis that can sit alongside your traditional techniques such as pulse or tongue. Case Histories In this section, we will delve into a range of case histories and clinical applications of Master Tung acupuncture. Through detailed case studies, you will gain insights into the effective use of Master Tung acupuncture in addressing various health conditions. We will analyse treatment strategies, needling techniques, and patient outcomes, allowing you to develop a deeper understanding of its practical application. Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS) in Master Tung’s Acupuncture Explore the fascinating concept of Vascular Autonomic Signal (VAS) within the context of Master Tung acupuncture. The vascular autonomic signal (VAS), also known as the Nogier reflex or reflex auriculo-cardiac (RAC), is a subtle change in the pulse that can be detected when pressure is applied to specific points on the ear and Acupuncture points. The VAS can be used to determine which points are active, it also could be used for diagnosis. It is thought to be a reflection of the body’s autonomic nervous system response to stimuli. This section will provide you with valuable knowledge on how to identify and utilise VAS in diagnosing and treating patients effectively. We will cover the theory, assessment methods, and practical applications of VAS in your acupuncture practice. Practical Work – Revisit Locations and Needling The practical aspect of this course is vital for honing your Master Tung acupuncture skills. You will have the opportunity to revisit key acupuncture point locations and practice needling techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors. This hands-on approach will allow you to refine your needling precision, ensuring safe and effective treatments for your patients. This course has been designed to help you progress and master your Master Tung style of acupuncture. As a result, there are pre-requisites for students to have an in-depth knowledge of Master Tung’s acupuncture.
