47 Cases of Migraine Treated with Acupuncture

by Zhao Pingping

The author reports remarkable results in the treatment of migraine headaches. In all 47 cases the treatment consisted of needling ipsilateral Taiyang (Extra) through to Quanliao SI-18 with the needle travelling beneath the zygomatic arch, ipsilateral Taichong LIV-3 and contralateral Hegu L.I.-4. In severe cases ipsilateral Fengchi GB-20 and Shuaigu GB-8 were added. The author claims 32 patients cured after a single treatment, 11 after two and 3 after 3. If the results are reported correctly one can assume a particularly strong and dynamic needling technique.
