Twenty-five healthy volunteers were treated with indirect moxibustion at Guanyuan REN-4 and Shenque REN-8 three times weekly for four weeks. Various blood markers were compared before and after moxibustion treatment. The results showed that moxibustion improves the human antioxidant defense system. In addition, 15 of the 25 subjects reported at least one symptom that they felt had improved due to the treatment. (Dec 2012)
